Haugesund - Kristiansand

Join this trip to experience racing a tall ship in full sail and the uniqueness of life at sea. On the way to Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway you get a taste of southern Norway’s natural marvels Pulpit Rock and Lysefjord. Arrive a day early to explore Haugesund, “homeland of the Viking kings”.

Departure Day

This stage takes you southward from Haugesund via a stopover at Forsand, before ending in Kristiansand, Norway’s southernmost city.

After departure, you can settle into the unique rhythm of life at sea with your co-sailor colleagues before we drop anchor at Forsand for a daylong stopover at the magnificent Lysefjord.

Why not arrive a day before departure to explore the unspoiled and lively coastal town of Haugesund. Widely known as “homeland of the Viking kings”, it was the base of Harald the Fairhaired, the Viking chieftain who is thought to have united Norway into a single kingdom. Haugesund is the perfect place to explore Viking history, with one of the best sites being Avaldsnes on Karmøy Island, which is also known for its long silver beaches.

Day 2

Forsand is close to the spectacular mountain formation of Pulpit Rock, one of the world’s truly breath-taking viewpoints. The 42-kilometer-long Lysefjord is famed for its vagabond’s cave, ancient farms, waterfalls, idyllic islands and majestic landscape.

Arrival Day

Back at sea, it’s time for the unforgettable experience of being aboard a tall ship in full sail as we compete in a short regatta with our sister ship, Christian Radich.

After the exhilaration of tall ship racing, the final leg of the voyage takes us along the ‘Norwegian Riviera’ to the southern tip of Norway, where we drop anchor in Kristiansand, with its idyllic archipelago and beaches, charming whitewashed old town, and famed wildlife and amusement parks.
